Team bike-moore blog
We thought we'd introduce a blog page to the website, to share with you the comings and goings of a training school and it's instructors!

11th January 2012: Happy New Year!

Well after a well earned rest over the christmas period, we are ready and raring to go! Courses are gradually starting to book with a very busy year ahead anticipated, in large part to the EU 3rd Directive coming into force in January 2013. Plans for this year include adding 2 new bikes to the fleet to comply with the 2013 changes, lots more ride outs including some further afield and hopefully the opportunity to start working on our planned sister company, moore-mud! On a final note to this brief blog, we'd just like to say how good it is to see so many of our ex-students out on their bikes throughout the winter, especially those who drop in to say hi and show off their latest acquisitions!

31st May 2011: Busy, busy times.

With the introduction of a little sunshine, things at bike-moore have been getting very busy. We welcomed 2 new instructors to team bike-moore - Neil Finlayson (aka Patrick) and Ade Makepeace. The phones have been ringing and the bookings coming in fast. Also we've been on a success roll with all our students passing their Module 1 and 2's first time over the last few weeks, so well done guys. The lines on the training area have finally been painted (see photo on home page) which makes those simulated turns in the CBT make more sense! We've also just agreed with Oxfordshire County Council to run a pilot scheme in all of Oxfordshire's secondary schools, delivering Safety Awareness Sessions. These are due to start from September 2011. On top of all this, work with the Get On campaign has continued, running many taster sessions at the centre. bike-moore will be running the Get On stand and free taster sessions at the Moto GP Silverstone 10 - 12 June, so if you're there, pop and say hi. Emma will be manning the booking desk, with Nik, Ade and Simon running up and down the training area, during the many taster sessions! If this wasn't enough, Emma will also be working for Get On dealing with the planning and publicity for the Get On Roadshows. We have recently formed a ladies biking group 'The Swift Sisters' who meet regularly for ride outs and social evenings. More information to follow as we start to look to increase the number of members. And finally....diary date - Friday 1st July, bike-moore's 1st birthday. We will be having a party for instructors and past students - invitations to be sent out soon!

19th February 2011:

Today's award for the furthest travelled client went to Elaine Holt who travelled all the way from High Wycombe for a CBT. She had scoured the web looking for a training centre with a dedicated training area (no car park) and good feedback. We had a fun day with Elaine, turning her into an 'ambi-turner' by the end of the day as to start with she could only turn left! We're looking forward to meeting Elaine's husband soon for his CBT.

9th February 2011:

Today we got the whole team together to take a 'team photo' for some promotional material, using student Nathan from Hook Norton as our stand in David Bailey! It took some work to get the team to be on their best behaviour to get the right shot.......

Though in the end we managed to end up with a fairly ok photo:
Many thanks to Nathan for the photography skills (we paid him in crisps) and good luck in your Mod 2 tomorrow!
